About Kelly Munro
I
have always had a passion for writing. My first projects were centered
around science fiction, fantasy, and the unimaginable. As time
progressed, I slipped farther away from the carefree days of childhood
and the tumultuous teenage years towards the never ending abyss of
adulthood that is "what are we having for dinner?"
My
foray into contemporary romance began nearly ten years ago: countless
hours filled with endless cups of orange pekoe and the incessant
clattering of a keyboard until hundreds of thousands of words and dozens
of stories were committed to paper.
Rushing
Whispers is my answer to what I've seen in written and visual media for
so long: that people who fall in love rarely stay in love, and that
difficult relationships (where each person has their own trauma and
baggage) are doomed to fail. The idea that working hard to make a
relationship work isn't just false, it's also damaging. How many young
people have seen real and fictional relationships fail time and again?
Too many.
The
way I have chosen to present Rushing Whispers is also deliberate. The
novels we buy at a bookstore or online have been pondered, played with,
modified, sculpted, reworked, polished, and finally put on display. This
long process isn't always obvious to writing amateurs (this word has
become a quasi-insult, but its true form is a descriptor for one with
passion and pure intent for a subject or pursuit) and has discouraged
many writers from telling their stories.
I
present Rushing Whispers in its early stages (somewhere between "played
with" and "modified") with the mindset that if it helps even one writer
to see the potential in their own work, I have succeeded. Note that
almost more than a year after beginning this story, I've realized issues
with the early chapters and things that perhaps I should have seen
sooner— oh well, I say, that's a problem for the rewrite!
I
greatly enjoy sharing this story with you all, and I hope it brings you
as much joy as your views and comments bring me! Emily, Liliane,
Cameron, and the rest of the Amoeba boys have a lot to share with you—and I hope you stick around for it!
